The texts in this reader are from the ERWC 3.0 mini-modules—a special set of short, introductory or enrichment modules designed to foster rhetorical thinking and transfer of learning. The readings thus offer a focused study of rhetorical concepts and argumentation skills that prepare students to read and write across contexts. Key topics addressed by the mini-module texts include the rhetorical situation, the rhetorical appeals, genre, exigence, claims and evidence, and metacognition. The mini-module reader also includes the texts from the ERWC portfolio modules.
